Learning games

Three browser games where the maths is the game, not a quiz after it.

LiveAll three are live and playable now.

Addition inside the game

A 2D game that finds a child’s number level while they play.

2d.play.aliturnover.com

What it does

Games for kids aged 8–11 where practising numbers is how you win.

What I built

Designed and built all three: 3D worlds in Three.js, a 2D game in Phaser, Arabic-first UI, coach voice lines and anonymous play telemetry.

Result

Published on three live URLs. The first game was redesigned after testing with the actual target child.

Technical details
  • Coach!: six rounds, each with a star goal counted in trips, so planning the division is what earns three stars.
  • Shardlands: a hover-drone explorer, creatures, energy and three beacons that wake the Monolith.
  • The first game: adaptive placement that starts below multiplication and only climbs when the child succeeds.
  • Telemetry is anonymous: a random session id, no name or IP, and ?notrack turns it off.
  • On phones: fullscreen and landscape lock, and the whole UI rotates if the phone stays portrait.
